Simple question, would you rather retire early, and guarantee the health and quality of life of your children and grandchildren, or would you prefer the inability to afford kids, a house, security, healthcare, all so you can realize you can never retire like your parents were able to? When i was 15 i got into street fight with 8 people at midnight, they are drunk age 13 to 20, i was looking the other places but toward them one dude came and ask why im looking at them, i said sorry i was looking the other way, he slap me, i didn't think he gonna do anything, then i slap him back everyone coming and i don't know how to fight but i keep defending and dodging while pushing away or randomly kicking until i was cornered, i didn't think about running away but keep dodging and pushing until i was on the ground, i saw one dude kicking me then i looking at his eye i can see the fear on his eye, and he has a pause then his second kick became softer, after i got my self standing again i shout "you guy lucky your are more than 1" and the big dude he look like 20 years old, he tell me to come and fight im backing away, and said "you guys are brave only with gang, then the dude who slap me first tell me to go, "go away just go home mf" im backing away but i don't turn my back until i can't see them, when i got too far and hurting i walking slowly i saw a police car going to the direction i got beat up, i was thinking about getting help so they can arrest them but i was so hurt and tired i don't have energy to run or shout. This reminds me of the lawyers who asked ChatGPT to do their job and it hallucinated a bunch of cases they later cited... it did not go well. This also reminds me of back in the days when writing was invented and the older generation thought people would all become idiots because they would not need to remember things by heart.... If you trust the AI to do a person's job you're gonna have a bad time. It needs human guidance and supervision. It is a tool that might speed up work, and maybe let smaller teams do more work. It is not going to replace people.

It's an interesting question whether people would become smarter and make breakthroughs if they lived for many years (i.e. as suggested in the video). Wisdom and experience would certainly count for something, but how much information can you retain in a meaningful way, and how engaged can you stay with new ideas. Perhaps slowed aging would slow the mental decline as well, who knows.

It’s hard to imagine will automate all jobs then proceed to just stay here on earth. Space cowboys seem like the next logical conclusion and I think it’s naive to assume that AI will be able to just conquer the universe, after all it’s purely trained on our outputs we still have a lot of short comings in relation to the universe.

The best part of the story was how she volunteered to travel to the alien world knowing she could have stayed on the earth and been comfortable. Really, such an individual would have been wiser to send probes, plural, to establish which of the planet candidates, plural, are good preliminary candidates for colonization and * then * base the decision on reliability of the technology first and only then, after all of that, distance second. The story is greatly reductive, fails to take in to account the overwhelming potential of people other than the protagonist and generally misses a LOT of important marks such as not being more rigorously tested by scientists to unlock her "immortality" but it's obvious the driving point of the story was emotion and not accuracy or detail.

Since my divorce in 2011 and my mum passed away a year after, i have been living alone. Like the video said, at first i felt helpless as i had always depended on my husband and mum, though not financially. A few years went by and like the video said, i learnt to cook my fav recipes, able to do some basic home maintenance ( thanks to RUclips which taught me how to, however the more complex and risky jobs i get contractors to do), i prepared my fav breakfast daily, i work flexi hrs thanks to my boss, i am paid well, i decorate my home for festivals and sometimes my siblings come over to chitchat, i stay at a place full of amenities and good public transport system, thus i was never inconvenienced. I even learnt to take care of myself when i was sick. I have got so comfortable of me-living that i hesitate about having a house mate.
